What is the purpose of a wall fitting?
A wall fitting for rope barriers is typically used to create handrail systems where other options may not be suitable. Although it serves the functional purpose of forming part of a barrier, it can make any place look sophisticated. The chrome wall fitting can enhance any interior décor. Rope that is directly attached to the wall is often subject to chafing, which reduces the life of the rope and shows unseemly frays; however, if such wall fittings are used, the rope is kept at an optimal distance from the wall, preserving the rope’s integrity and making it last much longer than otherwise.
Where can a wall fitting be used?
This product is generally used, as the name implies, directly on walls so that a series of them form a channel through which a rope barrier can be threaded. However, it is also suitable for flat, horizontal surfaces such as tables or short, flat-surfaced bannisters that need to be heightened without much additional expense. The wall fitting’s 4-point anchoring system gives is stability, thereby ensuring the safety of those who use such a bannister for support while climbing or descending stairs; as such, it is ideal for spaces regularly used by the elderly, the infirmed, or small children.
Who might use this product?
Anyone who needs a quick, easy and inexpensive alternative to bannister installation can use this product. In addition, it can also be used by those who do not want extensive damage to their walls – something that is usually unavoidable with traditional bannister systems. They can be used in retirement homes as a safer alternative to often slippery bannisters that are hard to get a grip on. Even those who merely want something more appealing than a staid handrail will find this rope barrier accessory to be extremely versatile and classy.

Interesting facts about eyelets
Eyelets are used in a number of applications to facilitate the threading of rope, string, thread and other similar items. The reason that lace shoes are provided with eyelets is to allow the laces to be threaded through easily and quickly. In addition, aglets – or the ends of shoelaces – serve two functions: the first is to prevent unravelling at the ends, and the second is to be able to lace up conveniently. The aglet-eyelet combination was, for a long time, used to fasten clothes – until the advent of buttons about five thousand years ago. However, buttons were primarily ornamental in function, and were only used as fasteners much later, slowing phasing out the aglet-eyelet combo. Still, the eyelet survived as a remnant of this fastening system and was modified to create the modern buttonhole.
