Inside Out Progress

We have the first images of the inside progress of our new Warehouse! So far we have seen some incredible outdoor changes to this project over the recent months, and we're amazed to finally be able to reveal an indoor update. Our Marketing Executive and in house photographer, Amelia, gave a few words on what the building is like on a realistic scale.

June has been a great month for the progress of our new build. The changes that can be seen on a weekly basis present an insight to a really exciting time here at The Workplace Depot. Throughout June we have seen that the construction process has been full steam ahead. A lot of the groundwork has gotten underway, with land being cleared and prepared for putting in the foundations.

The Workplace Depot are very proud to announce we can now carry the #MiB logos on our safety steps- and that’s not Made in Bingham. With a new month comes a new avenue to explore, and our newest venture is a new membership with Made in Britain. We are delighted to have recently received our Made In Britain membership pack here at our head office.

Anthony The Apprentice

Our most recent apprentice, Anthony, has impressed our warehouse team and been offered a full time position. Here's what he had to say about his time at The Workplace Depot so far. Anthony joined our team in April 2017 when he began his Warehouse and Logistics Apprenticeship. He recently began his full time role that he was offered shortly after completing the apprenticeship.

At the recent IoD East Midlands 2017 awards, Steve Miller, our Managing Director, was awarded East Midlands Family Business Director of the Year. Comments from our MD, Steve Miller - ‘I’m extremely humbled to win this award 2 years in a row. It’s fantastic to be recognised individually, however this award would not be possible without the dedication and hard work of all my team back at The Workplace Depot.

Great news this week... we've been shortlisted for the 2016 ECMOD Awards. The ECMOD Direct Commerce Awards have been established in 1998. Year after year they have increased their reputation and now represent a "must attend" for anyone in the retail industry. This is the first year we have been involved with the ECMOD Awards and are honoured to be amongst some of the big brand names taking part this year.

Workplace Depot Gets a Visit from Elf on the Shelf!

Around the office, we’ve started to notice some… instances. Some of the staff have noticed a peculiar new visitor in our shelving warehouse, and they seem to be enjoying him greatly. Sitting impishly on our retail shelving, metal shelving, and even on our container shelving, Elf on the Shelf has made itself at home on the many, many, many shelves Workplace Depot has to offer. The Incidents Begin At first, we didn’t notice our new little visitor. He looked right at home nestled on top of our selection of storage shelving. After all our shelving is designed to handle 545 kg per shelf, and the elf’s lithe frame is clearly less than that. Maybe we can convince him to eat more Christmas cookies and experiment with the shelf’s overall weight resistance? However, with our next day delivery, Elf on the Shelf’s position had to change quite frequently, sometimes in mid-day (granted, we’ve never seen the guy move, you know).
