Our 5mph regular speed ramps are safe and easy to install in places like private roads, construction sites & car parks. Fixing bolts are supplied but please specify when ordering whether you require bolts for concrete or tarmac surfaces. The yellow ramps are highly visible and have cats eyes in the mid section. Some speed humps, also known as sleeping policemen, can be used as cable protectors or cable covers - a useful two-in-one product. This product is often also referred to as a Speed Hump, Speed Bump, Car Ramp, or Sleeping Policeman.

Recycled rubber moulded sections, complete with fixing bolts suitable for concrete or tarmac surfaces.

What is the purpose of a 5mph speed ramp (speed hump)?

When vehicular traffic needs to be slowed down for safety purposes, it is recommended that highly visible signage be used to warn drivers of a ‘slow’ zone; in addition, it is also recommended that speed ramps – also called speed humps, speed bumps or even sleeping policemen – be used to ensure that drivers comply with the signage. These 5mph speed ramps can be fixed on concrete as well as tarmac, and offer the right kind of visibility and functionality that will force drivers to slow down to the required speed limit. This ensures the safety of the drivers as well as pedestrian traffic in specific areas.

Where can a 5mph speed ramp be used?

These speed humps are typically used whenever there is a need to slow down vehicular traffic for the safety of pedestrians, or in accident-prone zones. They can be used in driveways which are frequented by people as well as vehicular traffic; they can be used in front of entrances to ensure safe ingress and egress; they can be used near zebra crossings to ensure that drivers slow down; they can be used near schools, parks and play areas; as a rule, they can and should be used anywhere there is a risk of an accident occurring.

Who might use this speed ramp?

This speed restrictor can be used by those responsible for guiding vehicular traffic within private facilities such as parking lots, driveways, play areas, etc. Anyone who needs to control the flow and speed of cars and other vehicles to meet safety requirements will find this product extremely useful. These 5mph speed ramps can be fixed to concrete as well as tarmac surfaces and can, therefore, be used in indoor locations such as basement or elevated car parks as well as any type of macadam surface.

5mph Speed Ramp- product specifications- warranties, materials, legislation, etc.

Fixing bolts are included, and these can be used on tarmac as well as concrete surfaces. The moulded rubber sections form an effective speed deterrent for low-speed zones. The Workplace Depot offers a standard one-year warranty on all parts and labour. Our 5mph speed humps fully comply with all local council and government regulative manufacturing requirements to ensure the safety of your customers and staff.

Interesting facts about speed ramps

Because of potential structural damage to subways, bridges and tunnels, it is illegal to install speed ramps within 25 metres of such structures. Ensuring they are placed properly not only provides added security for drivers, but also pedestrians in the area.
