Item Information

  • Tensioner for use with 13-19mm steel strapping
  • Robust construction, simple to use
  • Use with appropriate size crimper

What is the purpose of the tensioner?

The tensioner is a manual tool that is used to add tension to steel strapping during the strapping process. Tension is added to steel strapping to ensure that the strapping is tightly wrapped around the products that will be shipped or hauled. As steel strapping leaves little room for stretching or flexibility, this process is a great way to make sure that none of the products are able to move while they are being transported to or from a location. When the product arrives, tension can safely be removed from the steel strapping using safety shears so that the strapping can be cut properly without fear of the steel strapping snapping backwards and causing injuries to those that are located near the strapping.

Where can this product be used?

For those who frequently work with steel strapping, a tensioner is a key tool. Without adding tension to the steel strapping, it would be ineffective in holding a product together. Because of this, tensioners are used in industries that frequently pack, ship, or haul large or heavy-duty items. Whether they use the product in a large business or in a small one, it is certainly helpful in getting a shipment to its final destination in one piece.

Who might use this product?

This product is most likely to be used by employees who work in fields such as manufacturing, shipping, or hauling. Professional truck drivers may wish to use the tensioner to add steel strapping to loads that they are hauling. Those who work in shipping departments of companies may also use a tensioner to keep all of the items that they are preparing to ship together on a skid or pallet.
