What can I store in this COSHH locker?

It’s designed for hazardous substances other than flammable liquids, such as cleaning chemicals, irritants and harmful substances. Always check each product’s Safety Data Sheet and your COSHH risk assessment before storing it, as some substances need to be kept apart.

Why does the locker have a spill sump?

The 20L welded sump tray in the base catches liquid from a leaking or damaged container, so it stays inside the locker rather than spreading across the floor. The tray lifts out for cleaning, so a spill can be dealt with properly. For spills outside the locker, keep spill kits close by.

What’s the difference between the yellow and grey lockers?

Many workplaces use both to keep their storage organised: the yellow flammable storage locker for flammable liquids such as paints, solvents and thinners, and this grey locker for other hazardous substances, such as cleaning chemicals and irritants. Keeping them apart makes substances easy to find. Each comes with a hazard sticker, and you can add other signs to suit what you store.

Can I store different chemicals together?

Is this locker fire resistant?

No. It’s a lockable steel locker with a welded spill sump and hazard marking, for organised, controlled storage. It has no fire rating, so if your fire or DSEAR risk assessment calls for a fire-resisting cabinet, choose a fire-resisting safety cabinet instead.
