What can I store in this flammable COSHH cupboard?

It’s designed for suitable flammable liquids such as paints, solvents, thinners, adhesives and some cleaning or maintenance chemicals. Always check each product’s Safety Data Sheet and your risk assessment before storing it, as some substances need to be kept apart.

Why does the cupboard have a spill sump?

The 36L welded sump in the base catches liquid from a leaking or damaged container, so it stays inside the cupboard rather than spreading across the floor. The tray lifts out for cleaning, so a spill can be dealt with properly. For spills outside the cupboard, keep spill kits close by.

What’s the difference between the yellow and grey cupboards?

Many workplaces use both to keep their storage organised: yellow for flammable liquids such as paints, solvents and thinners, and the grey COSHH cupboard for other hazardous substances, such as cleaning chemicals and irritants. Each comes with a hazard sticker, and you can add other signs to suit what you store.

Can I store different chemicals together?

You do. Each cupboard comes with a hazard sticker, but the sign should always suit what’s stored inside, so check it before use. You can choose different safety signs and labels to customise the cupboard for its contents.

No. It’s a lockable steel cupboard with a welded spill sump and hazard marking, for organised, controlled storage. It has no fire rating, so if your fire or DSEAR risk assessment calls for a fire-resisting cabinet, choose a fire-resisting safety cabinet instead.
