Motivated EmployeesNot only is today special because we can now officially say we are half way through the working week, it is also Employee Motivation Day!

Argos for Business has launched the Employee Motivation Day to inspire your workforce and show appreciation to employees across the UK.

Currently the figures show us that 26% of the UK’s workforce lose motivation at work between 3.00pm and 4.00pm everyday, even though over a third of people revealed they are passionate about the work they do. A nationwide survey carried out by Argos for Business also showed that “feeling valued” by your boss is the top motivational component.

If your staff show signs of being demotivated ask yourself “am I proving to my staff that I value them?” Answering this simple question can help you see where you are going wrong and how you can improve things, by simply valuing your staff you can help their motivation, which in theory can help the company improve.

As a boss, Employee Motivation Day gives you the opportunity to acknowledge the great work your employees do for your organisation. Some great ways to show your appreciation include:

  • Bonuses
  • Gift Cards
  • Individual Presents
  • Reward Schemes
  • Days Out

Another way in which you can try and improve your staff’s motivation is by updating their equipment; there is nothing worse than a slow computer or a rubbish printer. Why not upgrade the IT equipment, buy new furniture or get a coffee machine in the staff room. Or you could visit us here at The Workplace Depot to improve some workplace essentials, helping your staff become a little bit more motivated!
